The call for proposals for actions to raise awareness of development issues in Europe has been published on the web site of EuropeAid (http//ec.europa.eu/europeaid )

This call is important for activities in new Member States, because they benefit exceptionally of more favorable conditions. The projects in these new Member States could be presented by NGO's of these countries, as well as by NGO's of the 15 "old Member States". Here follows some extracts of the attached Guidelines which are specific for activities in new Member States.
- From the global amount (EUR 30,000,000) a financial envelope of EUR 10,000,000 is allocated as follows:
- actions which are entirely implemented in the 10 Member States which joined the European Union in May 2004;
- actions with the main objective to raise awareness of development issues in these 10 Member States and for which the main activities are taking place in these countries.
- SIZE OF GRANTS :
The Community grant applied for must fall within EUR 50,000 (minimum amount) and EUR 1.080.000 (maximum amount). On an exceptional basis, this amount (of EUR 50.000) can be as low as EUR 15.000 for actions entirely implemented in the Member States which joined the European Union in May 2004.
- EC contribution:
In principle, grants may not exceed 75,00 % of the total eligible costs of the action (see also point 2.1.4). However, on an exceptional basis, the EC contribution may be of up to 85,00 % for actions which are entirely implemented in the Member States which joined the European Union in May 2004.
- The deadline for the receipt of Concept Notes is 20 February 2007 at 16.00 hours, Brussels time.
