High-Level Meeting on Non-Communicable Diseases, General Assembly | | | Hungarian President Pál Schmitt and State Secretary for health Miklós Szócska participated at the High-Level Meeting on Non-Communicable Diseases on September 19th. Mr Schmitt as the co-chair of one of the panels underlined that non-communicable diseases constitute one of the greatest dangers for the health and sustainable development of humankind. Hungary is committed to actively contribute to the fight against these threats. Hungarian experience and knowledge are a remarkable added value in the education and training of students and specialists coming from the developing world. While recognizing the results of the country in the field of combatting communicable diseases Pál Schmitt underlined that the breakthrough in improving life style of the population is still a considerable challenge. Investments in prevention are essential in order to adequately tackle these issues. |
