Ceremonial Presentation of Certificates of Merit
„Pro auxilio civium Hungarorum”
held in the Hungarian Agricultural Museum
on May 25th, Sunday, 2008
By virtue of the Decree 9/2003.(V.20.) of the Minister for Foreign Affairs a Certificate of Merit „Pro auxilio civium Hungarorum” will be presented ceremonially every year to those members of the Honorary Consular Corps of the Republic of Hungary who rendered their distinguished and uninterrupted service in the interest of the citizens of Hungary for more than ten years.
The Certificates of Merit were personally handed over by H. E. Dr. Kinga Göncz, Minister for Foreign Affairs for those eleven members of the Honorary Consular Corps who participated in the 4th Honorary Consuls Conference. Altogether eighteen members were eligible for this high decoration but unfortunately seven of them were unable to attend.
The list of the eleven decorated members is as follows:

5. Mr. József Béla Jankovich, honorary consul Arnhem (The Netherlands)
6. Mr. Juan José Martony Schmidt, honorary consul Montevideo (Uruguay)
7. Dr. Erzsébet Miliczky, honorary consul Bologna (Italy)
8. Ms. Katharina Pedák-Vattay, honorary consul Linz (Austria)
9. Mr. Miklós Szabó, honorary consul Auckland (New Zealand)
10. Mr. Dénes Aurél Tóth honorary consul Durban (RSA)
11. Dr. György Trepper, honorary consul Windhoek (Namibia)
