On 7 September 2012, during the 49 World Congress of the International Federation of Landscape Architects in Cape Town, the outstanding Hungarian landscape architect, holder of the Széchenyi Prize, Professor Mihály Mőcsényi (born 9 November 1919) was bestowed upon the Sir Geoffrey Jellicoe Award, the highest honor of the profession worldwide. Mihály Mőcsényi is the 4th prominent representative of the profession who has received for his lifetime achievement the Jellico Award, established by the international organization in 2004. Among the five members of the international panel of jurors (from Norway, New Zealand, Brazil and Germany) the well-known South-African landscape architect Anton Comrie was also present.
