Should you wish to appeal against the Embassy’s decision, it is up to you to refer the matter with a letter in Hungarian or in any other official language of the European Union within eight days after receiving the refusal notice.

The signed appeal can be mailed to the Embassy of Hungary in Pretoria (P.O. Box 13843, Hatfield, Pretoria 0028, South Africa), and a fee for the appeal 274,- ZAR should be transferred to the visa account of the Embassy (Account Holder: Embassy of the Republic of Hungary, ABSA BANK, Account Number: 91-2966-7734, Branch Name: Hatfield, Branch Code: 632005, reference: Applicant’s FAMILY NAME followed by space and INITIAL(S), Swift Code: ABSA ZA JJ).

The appeal will be reviewed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Hungary and a decision will be made within 15 calendar days. During this process further supporting documents may be requested and we may invite the applicant to the consulate for an interview.
