A bronz bust of Hungarian composer and piano virtuoso Franz Liszt was erected in central Belgrade on 21 October at the occassion of Liszt’s 200th birth anniversary. Hungarian ambassador Oszkar Nikowitz and the cultural councellor of Belgrade’s municipalality Vesna Marjanovic unveiled the sculpture.
The artwork of Hungarian sculptor Ms Katalin Gero was installed in Manjez Park, in the vicinity of the Serbian Faculty of Music. Another bust of the same cast had earlier been donated by Budapest to Warsaw at the ocassion of the Liszt bicentenary.
