Crisis Art: Vajda Júlia Exhibition

Julia Vajda (1918-1982) despite the fact, that she was rarely given the opportunity to exhibit her works in her lifetime, Júlia Vajda became one of the major figures of the 20th century Hungarian Art. She was a tough woman. At times she found herself of disadvantage because of her Jewish origin, at other times because of her opposition to the government, or because her art was deemed too modern. Her exhibition opened on the 6th of September 2012 at the Consulate General of Hungary, but her works will be exhibited in the premises of the Hungarian Embassy in Washington DC during October as well.
