As we posted on our website in November, representatives from our Consulate and the Hungarian Embassy of Washington DC held presentations in the conference panels and discussed the benefits of international trade between Connecticut and Eastern Europe at the Central-Eastern European Network 2nd Annual Trade Visit. Owenoak International Golf President, Carla Mantiglia visited the event where she was introduced to Zoltan Hajdu a representative of Royal Balaton Golf & Yacht Club. Owenoak started by offering golf vacation trips to traditional destinations like Ireland and Scotland, but Mantiglia thinks Hungary has potential to become a player in the sport. She realized the course could provide a visitor with a challenging round and a break from seeing the sights. Thus the Norwalk-based Owenoak International Golf and Travel has subsequently entered into an agreement with Royal Balaton Golf & Yacht Club, spicing up vacation trips to Hungary with golf at the 6,761-yard, par 72 course. Owenoak International Golf plans to market the golf and tourist package by this summer. Read more here.
