Concert given by Hiromi Okada at the Embassy

On 28 May 2008 Hiromi Okada, who was accompanied by his wife, gave a highly successful concert at the Embassy. The concert was organised by the British Hungarian Society and the artists and guests were welcomed by the Ambassador, Borbala Czako.

The internationally recognised Japanese pianist, who in 2000 and 2004 captivated American audiences at the Famous Romantic Festival with his interpretation of Liszt, played the Beethoven D minor sonata and pieces by Liszt (Ricordanza and Mephisto Waltz number 1) before an audience of 50 people.

A few years ago Hiromi Okada demonstrated his virtuoso playing in Hungary, at the invitation of Dr Maria Eckhardt, Director of the Liszt Museum and Research Centre.
