Visa Fee

The visa fee should be paid at the Sofiyivske branch office of the OTP Bank (01001, Kyiv, Szofijivszka st. 12.) on the day or the day after you submit the visa application form at the Consulate. The Consulate issues a ticket indicated your name on it which should be present at the time of the payment at OTP Bank. The Bank notify the Consulate through an on-line system that the visa fee has been paid, it's not necessary to come back again. The Consulate will not deliver the visa on time if you pay the visa fee late.

The fee for processing visa applications filled by citizens of Ukraine for obtaining a Schengen visa of B and C categories shall amount to EUR 35 (more detailed information concerning the free-of-charge categories is set forth below)

The fee for processing residence permit applications, category D visa (more than 90 days) – EUR 60.

The Schengen Member States charge a fee of EUR 70 for processing visas in cases where the visa application form and other supporting documents have been submitted by the applicant within three days before the date of departure (authorization for urgent processing may be given solely by the Consul).

The general visa rules can be facilitated on the basis of an agreement on the facilitation of the issuance of visas. The European Community has concluded such agreements with Ukraine, Albania, Bosnia- Herzegovina, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Russia and Serbia. (see below)

For citizens of third countries, the fee for processing airport, transit and short-term visas shall amount to

EUR 60

The fee for processing seasonal employment visas shall amount to

EUR 40

In case of refusal the visa fee shall not be refunded.

The Consulate shall not charge anything in excess of the aforementioned fees.

Listed below are the main Schengen categories of citizens entitled to free-of-charge visas:

a) children under the age of 14, whose names are stated in the parents’ foreign passports,

b) family members of an EEA citizen*,

c) children under the age of 6 having their own foreign passports,

d) a group of children consisting of more than 5 persons,

e) scientific researchers.

* Family members: - spouse of an EEA citizen; - spouse of a citizen of Hungary; - descendant under the age of 21 or a dependant descendant of an EEA citizen or of the spouse; - descendant under the age of 21 or a dependant descendant of a citizen of Hungary or of the spouse; - unless otherwise stipulated by legislation, an ancestor of an EEA citizen or of the spouse; - an ancestor of a citizen of Hungary or of the spouse; - custodian of a citizen of Hungary who is under age

Other benefits related to visa fees, arising from the Agreement between Ukraine and the European Community on the Facilitation of the Issuance of Visas:

Fees for processing the short-term B and C visa applications are waived for the following categories of citizens of Ukraine:

a) for close relatives: spouses, children (including adopted), parents (including custodians), grandparents and grandchildren visiting citizens of Ukraine legally residing in Hungary (in the territory of the Member States) (except for urgent cases);

b) for members of official delegations who, following an official invitation addressed to Ukraine, shall participate in meetings, consultations, negotiations or exchange programmes, as well as in events held in the territory of one of the Member States by intergovernmental organisations ;

c) members of national and regional Governments and Parliaments, Constitutional Courts and Supreme Courts, in case they are not exempted from the visa requirement by the present Agreement;

d) pupils, students, post-graduate students and accompanying teachers who undertake trips for the purpose of study or educational training (except for urgent cases);

e) disabled persons and the persons accompanying them, if necessary;

f) persons who have presented documents proving the necessity of their travel on humanitarian grounds;

g) participants in international sports events and persons accompanying them (except for urgent cases);

h) persons participating in scientific, cultural and artistic activities including university and other exchange programmes (except for urgent cases);

i) participants in official exchange programmes organised by twin cities (except for urgent cases);

j) journalists (except for freelancers);

k) pensioners (subject to proof of the status of pensioner);

l) drivers conducting international cargo and passenger transportation services to the territories of the Member States in vehicles registered in Ukraine (except for urgent cases);

m) members of train, refrigerator and locomotive crews in international trains travelling to the territories of the Member States (except for urgent cases);

n) children under the age of 18 and dependant children under the age of 21 (except for urgent cases).

By using the table below citizens of Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Macedonia, Moldova, the Montenegro, Russia and Ukraine can familiarise themselves with the exemptions that can be made on the basis of the respective agreements facilitating the issuance of visas.
