Supporting documents for Schengen visa - VISIT


The following documents are requested

  • 1 duly completed application form
  • Original passport with a validity exceeding three months after your scheduled return + photocopy of passport(s) and previous visas + photocopy of id-card
  • 2 recent coloured identical passport photographs suitable for biometrical passports
  • Travel insurance covering Schengen countries (before issuance of visa)

Evidence destination / host:

  • Invitation letter from host ( according to national regulations)

Evidence financial means:

q proof of sufficient financial means to cover the costs of the stay if the invitation letter does not contain an appropriate guarantee (3-month bank account statement, saving books)

Evidence professional background:

  • proof of income and socio-professional standing (letter from the employer stating professional position, monthly salary and vacation granted, documents confirming real estate ownership, company registration, retirement benefits)
  • for students: present school/university certificate of enrolment/attendance, absence-permission and proof of parents’ income

Personal evidence:

  • extract from family record or family book
  • previous passports or the passport statement from the Immigration Office
  • resident card/return permit/entry visa for non Syrians

Other evidence:

  • Fee 60 Euros (this is a non reimbursable handling fee)

The foregoing is not an exhaustive list, each applicant may be asked to provide additional proof.

All requested evidence must be produced in original and 1 photocopy. A translation into English, or the language of the visa department at which you are submitting your application may also be asked for. However, handing in a complete set of documentation does not guarantee the delivery of the requested visa.

Please be advised that the possession of a valid Schengen visa does not grant an irrevocable right of entry to or temporary stay in the territory of the Schengen member states. You may as well be required to present certain evidence again upon entry at the border post.

The following documents are requested

  • Travel insurance covering Schengen countries (before issuance of visa)

  • Visa or proof of residency in country of final destination

Evidence financial means:

  • proof of sufficient financial means to cover the costs of the stay (3-month bank account statement, saving books)

Evidence professional background:

  • flight reservation (round trip);

  • proof of sufficient financial means to cover the costs of the stay guarantee (3-month bank account statement, saving books)

Evidence professional background:

  • proof of income and socio-professional standing (letter from the employer stating professional position, monthly salary and vacation granted, documents confirming real estate ownership, company registration, retirement benefits)

  • invitation letter from the company in the Schengen area containing names of the invited persons, reason of travel and duration of stay flight reservation (round trip);
  • hotel reservation if the inviting company is not responsible for accommodation
  • flight reservation (according to national regulations)

Evidence financial means:

  • proof of sufficient financial means to cover the costs of the stay (3-month bank account statement, saving books)

Evidence professional background:

  • proof of past commercial contacts (invoices/shipping documents, local customs receipts);
  • certificate of registration in the Chamber of Commerce or Industry (applicant’s or employer’s name);
  • certificate from Commercial Registry
  • letter from the employer stating applicant’s professional position, monthly salary and reason of travel to the Schengen area and obligation to cover the applicant’s expenditures (if applicable)
