Singapore is Hungary’s 5th export market in the Asia-Pacific region after China, Japan, South Korea and Hong Kong. With regards to the imports and the volume of the total trade turnover, Singapore is Hungary’s 6th trade partner in Asia following the 5 countries mentioned above and Malaysia. According to Hungarian statistics, the total trade turnover between Hungary and Singapore was USD 587.3 Million in 2004 of which Hungarian exports represented USD 57.3 Million, while the Hungarian imports were of USD 530 Million. Hungarian exports to Singapore rose by 27%, while imports from Singapore rose by 45% in comparison to the previous year. The proportion of electronics, communication and computer technology units, spare parts and semi-conductors mainly produced by multinational companies is significant in both Hungarian exports and imports. The Singaporean FDI in Hungary constitute approximately USD 49 Million. About 20 Singaporean companies are currently represented in Hungary.Detailed economic information on Hungary
