Starting from 2nd October 2012, new visa procedures will apply to everyone who aims to travel to the Schengen Area. As the new procedures include the collecting of biometric data, all applicants will have to go in person to the Embassies of the Schengen countries - therefore also the the Embassy of Hungary - in order to give their finger prints and let their photos be taken. The change of procedures is due to the introduction of the Visa Information System (VIS).
