More caravans from Nagyoroszi Knaus Tabbert, caravan producer in Nagyoroszi – owned by the Dutch HTP - is completing a EUR 900 thousand project this year to boost its production from 1,000 units annually to 2,200. The company employs about 300 people in Hungary. The expansion project at the factory in Nógrád county should be completed by the end of the summer, in order to start production of the 2013 models on time. Kurstjens finishes biogas plant in Hungary Dutch company Kurstjens BV has completed the construction of a HUF 2.5 billion biogas plant in Várda (Somogy county), where trial production will start in the second half of 2011. This plant is the first biogas unit of Kurstjens BV in Central Europe. The plant of BIO-E Kft, the Hungarian subsidiary of the Dutch investor, will use sewage sludge, manure and different food (catering) and green waste to generate electricity. The energy produced in the plant will be used to heat a six-hectare greenhouse site that will be completed in the second phase of the project and which will produce mostly for export. The horticulture to contain 12 massive greenhouses initially is to cost more than HUF 1.5 billion. The plant is to start with a 60-strong staff and is expected to boost its headcount to 100-120 people later. Imtech N.V. investment in HungaryImtech N.V., technical services provider in Europe announced that it has taken the next step in its strategic growth plan for Central and Eastern Europe with the acquisition of the Hungarian subsidiary of YIT. On an annual basis, these YIT business units, which employ around 50 specialists, realise revenue of over 10 million euro. YIT Hungary specialised in mechanical and electrical services, including energy and energy savings, fire safety and building automation. Customers are found both in the private and public sectors. Approximately 70% of the activities concern technical new build activities and 30% technical maintenance and management. CE On-Demand is currently present in ten countries across the CEE region and growing fast. The company provides enterprise-level business solutions, including messaging, collaboration and communication services from the cloud, made available to companies of all sizes, across multiple industry sectors. DBH Investment was one of the winners of funds provided under the EU's JEREMIE program, with the EU contributing 70% of the capital for DBH's HUF 5 bn (EUR 17.8 mn) fund. This is the fund's fourth investment and the largest so far. The DBH invested a combined HUF 855 mn in three technology SMEs. It's been investing HUF 340 mn into a biotechnology company (Nanoform) and inject HUF 200 mn into a company that makes healthcare equipment (Proinvest) and HUF 315 mn in a company that develops and manufactures industrial automatization systems (C-Tech). The DBH Investment Venture Capital Fund was founded in September 2008, as the member of DBH Group, a Dutch-Hungarian real estate, investment and business services company established in 1994. Philips to expand operations in HungaryPhilips expanded its operations in Hungary to include production of 3D television sets at its plant in Székesfehérvár and energy-efficient LED lighting fixtures at its unit in Tamási, Benedikt Laux, the Dutch company's manager in charge of the CEE region said at press conference. According to plans, the Székesfehérvár plant will produce 400,000-500,000 units this year and about a million in 2011.Mr Laux said he was satisfied with the management at both plants, noting that they had done everything possible to keep capacity in Hungary. "The outside observer does not see the battle some units must carry on to convince the parent company that it is worthwhile to keep capacity where it is," he said.The plant in Székesfehérvár not only makes entertainment electronics, but electric shavers and vacuum cleaners, and later it could start making other household appliances, Mr Laux said.
