On December 20, 2012 H.E. Mr. Valeriu Lazăr, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economy of the Republic of Moldova and H.E. Mr. Mátyás Szilágyi, the Ambassador of Hungary to Moldova signed the protocol amending the Hungarian-Moldovan intergovernmental agreement on economic cooperation. The signed document is meant to promote and consolidate bilateral economic ties.

The document provides for the creation of a Hungarian-Moldovan joint commission for economic cooperation that would be responsible for identifying sectors of cooperation and elaborating implementation programmes of the agreement's provisions.
