On February 23, 2010 Ambassador of the Republic of Hungary to Moldova, dr. György Varga and Vice-Prime Minister, Minister of Economy of the Republic of Moldova, Mr. Valerii Lazăr, signed the inter-governmental agreement between two states.

The agreement will create favourable preconditions for the establishment of principles of mutually advantageous economic cooperation in all fields and sectors of economy according to the legislation of the two states, especially in investments and innovation activity.

After ratification and coming into force of the agreement, the practice of holding sittings of the Moldovan-Hungarian workgroup for economic cooperation and trade promotion will be resumed. The last sitting of the workgroup was held in Budapest in 2005.
