The meeting between the Ambassador of Hungary and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova

On June 5, 2008, took place the meeting between the Ambassador of the Republic of Hungary dr. György Varga and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova Ms. Zinaida Greceanîi.

During the meeting Ms. Greceanîi said that Moldova counts on Hungary’s support in the negotiations concerning a new document on cooperation with the EU.

The Prime Minister informed that in October, the Moldovan authorities are going to organize a forum of European Women – Foreign Ministers. In this respect, Greceanîi invited the head of the Hungarian diplomacy, Ms. Kinga Göncz, to take part in the event. At the same time, Ms. Greceanîi invited the Prime Minister of Hungary Mr. Ferenc Gyurcsány to visit Moldova.

Ambassador György Varga, in his turn, mentioned that Hungary and Moldova have many joint projects, which will be continued. Mr. Varga informed that in September a new one-million-euro European project, planned for a two-year term, would be launched jointly with the French and Hungarian legislatives.

The Ambassador of Hungary also informed that soon enough the reconstruction works in the Common Application Centre are going to start. Mr. Varga highlighted that the Centre’s partners are satisfied with the activity of the institution and, shortly, Slovakia and Belgium are expected to join the Centre.
