IMPORTANT NOTICE: Holders of Macedonian biometric passports can travel visa free to the Schengen Zone for stays under 90 days as of 19. December 2009.Holders of non-biometric passports are obliged to apply for a visa for Schengen entry.

IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR KOSOVO CITIZENS: Only those holders of Kosovo passports are eligible to apply for a Schengen visa at our Embassy who can present a valid Macedonian residence permit.

INFORMATION FOR VISA APPLICANTS:

The short and long-term visa applications for HUNGARY and the short-term visa applications for LITHUANIA / ESTONIA are to be submitted PERSONALLY at the Embassy of Hungary in Skopje with the below mentioned documents:

  • an application form (filled out in printed Latin characters and signed)
  • a photograph not older than six months according to ICAO standards
  • a valid passport and a copy of the photo (validity of the passport must be at least three months longer than the validity exit date)

Visa applicants need an individual medical travel insurance that should cover:

  • the costs that can come up in connection with emergency medical help and/or urgent hospital treatment
  • return to the home country due to medical reasons.
  • Insurance should be valid in the whole Schengen territory, all EU countries, Switzerland and Liechtenstein.
  • The insurance should cover the whole validity of the visa and cover expenses of a minimum of 30.000 Euros. During the submission of the visa application original insurance document should be shown and a copy should be attached the application applications.
  • certificate for sufficient means (travelers cheque and bank account statement for the last three months or a credit card valid in EU and the listing from bank for the last three months)
  • certificate for accommodation (prepaid hotel reservation)

status verification:

a) pupils, high school scholars, students(certificate from the school, certificate from the university and a student index)

b) employed (M1/M2 or a employment contract)

c) unemployed (certificate from the state authority that the person is on welfare (CSD, municipality))

d) retired persons (last certificate on retirement allowance that will serve as certificate on sufficient means)

e) freelance professions (certificate on artists’ association or certificate form the ministry of Culture)

f) sportsmen (registry or certificate of the Ministry of Sports)

g) drivers conducting international cargo (M1/M2, valid driver’s license, green card, CMR, CEMT)

h) businessmen (M1/M2, agreement on mutual cooperation, registry of the company and financial reports)

i) journalists (press card)

§ certificate confirming the purpose of travel – these are only general guidelines!

§ pupils, high school, university students, post-graduate students and accompanying teachers, professors that will participate in study programs or professional training, student exchange programs or other educational training activities:

  • a written application or
  • a certificate from the hosting school confirming enrollment or
  • confirmation for attending courses

applicants participating in scientific, research, cultural and artistic activities as well as university and other programs that the individual is to take part of:

  • a written application from the hosting organization
  • representatives of civil society organizations attending professional training, seminar, conference and exchange programs: a written application from the hosting organization
  • a certificate confirming that the person is representing the organization
  • a registration certificate of the organization from the state authorities, signatory to the third party agreement
  • journalists to perform press work - a certificate by which the organization confirms the competence of a journalist
  • a letter of request in which the employer is stating the purpose of travel for the journalist
  • participants of international sports events as well as the accompanying team
  • a confirmation of the hosting organization (authority, association, member state commission)
  • representatives of business enterprises, business travels, businessmen
  • a request from the hosting business company of the member states
  • a request of the chamber of commerce, signatory the third party agreement
  • freelance professionals that are to participate in international exhibits, conference, symposium, seminar and other similar events that are going to take place in the member state country.
  • a request from the hosting organization confirming the applicant’s participation h) persons that will participate in exchange programs organized by twin cities, municipalities
  • a request of the head of administration/mayor of the city or municipality
  • drivers conducting international cargo and passenger transportation services to member state countries in vehicles registered in countries signatory to the third party agreement
  • a request from the association of transportation drivers of the country signatory to the Third Party Agreement on International Road Transportation stating the purpose, duration and frequency of travel.
  • staff persons of international train, cold storage wagons and locomotives traveling to member state countries
  • a request from the relevant railway company, signatory to the Third Party Agreement stating the duration and frequency of travel
  • close relatives, such as, spouse, children (including adopted children), parents (including guardians), grandparents and grandchildren visiting citizens of countries signatory to the Third Party Agreement legally residing in Member State countries
  • a request from the host (attested by a notary)
  • representatives of religious communities
  • a request from the religious community registered in the country, signatory to Third Party Agreement, stating the purpose, duration and frequency of travel
  • persons travelling due to medical reason and accompanying persons
  • official document from the medical institution confirming the urgency/necessity for medical care as well as the necessity for a accompanying person
  • evidentiary document for sufficient financial means
  • members of official delegations of countries signatory to the Third Party Agreement participating in meetings, consultations or exchange programs that are organized by international organizations in the countries of Member States.
  • letter of invitation addressed to the country signatory to the Third Party Agreement
  • letter from the authority of the country signatory to the Third Party Agreement, confirming that the person in question is a member of the delegation of that authority
  • individuals visiting military or civilian burial and/or memorial services
  • official document confirming date and place of the memorial service as well as the relation between the applicant and the deceased.

Exceptional permits

a) minors traveling alone

- certificate of approval from both parents, legal guardians (attested by a notary), for children a letter of consonance verified by the police

b) minors traveling with one of the parents

- certificate of approval from the other parent (attested by a notary), for small children a letter of consonance verified by the police

ATTENTION:

The Embassy reserves itself the right request for additional documents if necessary.

The submitted documents are not to be given back.

The granting of a visa is not guaranteed even if all requested documents are submitted.

The application fee is not reimbursed in case the visa is not granted.

Keep in mind that the signing the application means that all the information is correct and complete. Pay attentions especially in case that someone else is helping you in filling out the forms.

Every individual case is evaluated separately and is not be compared with any other cases.

Please apply for the visa on reasonable time before the planned travel. However, you cannot apply more than three months in advance before the planned trip to Schengen area.

How and where do I pay for consular services?

The Embassy does not handle cash. Payments are to be arranged through checks provided by the Embassy during office hours. The checks are to be paid at any „Komercijalna Banka” bank office in Macedonia. Please make sure to have a copy of your passport when visiting the bank.

Hungarian Residence Permit

The foreigners intending to stay more than 3 months in Hungary may apply for resident permit at the Consulate. Information on residence permits as well as the „EU Blue Card” may be found on the following website: www.bmbah.hu.
