Visit to Niksic, NATO Info Point
The Hungarian Embassy in Podgorica acts as the NATO’s Contact Point Embassy (CPE) between the Alliance and Montenegro from 1st January, 2009 to 31st December, 2010. As part of this task the Hungarian Ambassador in Montenegro, H.E. Tibor Császár visited Niksic on the 4th of February 2010. During his visit at the newly established NATO Info Point in Niksic he has handed over a multifunction (printer, scanner, fax and copy) machine, as a donation from the Hungarian Embassy.

The Info Point is managed by a local self-financed NGO – Alfa Centar, which is one of the most active organisations in raising awareness and disseminating information about NATO in Montenegro. Under the auspices of the NGO the so called Regional Euro-Atlantic Camp Together’ (REACT) is being organised at the beginning of September every year. REACT is an excellent opportunity to bring together 60 to 70 young individuals from neighbouring countries and let them exchange their ideas and views on NATO and security related issues in the region.

Ambassador Császár met with the Mayor of Niksic, Mr. Nebojsa Radojicic, and then had an inspiring meeting with the members of the Alfa Centar while visiting the NATO Info Point. Besides the donation presented on this occasion to the NGO, the Embassy has already supported the organisation’s work with different NATO publications and printed materials.
