The diplomatic relations between Hungary and Lebanon have been established since 1965, the first Hungarian Embassy opened in Beirut in 1970. In 1995, the mission was headed by a Chargé d’Affaires but since 2001, there is a resident Ambassador.

1995 – Michel Edde, Minister of Culture, visited Budapest and signed a cultural
agreement

2002 – Najib Mikati, Minister of Transport and Public Works visited Budapest,
together with Adnan Kassar, President of the Chamber of Commerce and
