Commemoration of Raoul Wallenberg
Mr Imre Laszlóczki, Ambassador of Hungary opened the poster exhibition about the activity of Raoul Wallenberg. In his speech he praised the role of Raoul Wallenberg during the Holocaust in Budapest.
On May 31 2012. our embassy together with the Swedish and Israeli diplomatic missions presented the Swedish movie made in 1990. „Good evening Mr. Wallenberg” in the Miner’s Community Center of Karaganda. Before the screening ambassador Imre Laszlóczki, the chargé d’affaires of the Swedish embassy, and the ambassador from Israel praised the role of Wallenberg in saving jews of Budapest.
On May 31 2012. on a commemoration organized in town Spask of about 30 kilometers from Karaganda by our embassy, ambassador Imre Laszlóczki wreathed the tablet installed by the Hungarian governement in memory of Hungarian prisoners of war on 31. May 2000. Together with several members of the diplomatic corps of Astana Ambassador Laszlóczki placed flowers of piety on the memorial tablet of the representatives of other nations (Kazakh, German, Korean, Japanese, French, Italian, Polish, Russian, Georgian, Armenian, Azerbaijani, Israeli, Lithuanian, Romanian, Ukrainian, Finnish, Slovak), who died and have been buried in unmarked graves.
Dr. Ernő Keskeny, Director of Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, ministerial comissioner participated on these events.
