On the occasion of the EU Day on May 9, Ambassadors of EU member countries to Japan visited junior high schools and high schools overall Japan and made speeches to students. Ambassador of Hungary has chosen to take his visit in Ogaki city located in Gifu Prefecture, which is related to Hungary in many ways. Gifu Prefecture, which also maintains sister-city relation with Veszprem County in Hungary has cultural exchanges in a wide range. The head office of Ibiden Co. that has subsidiary in Hungary too is also located in Ogaki city.

The Hungarian Ambassador explained about the history of the EU, the strong economical relations between EU member countries, the merits of the borderless Europe and the cooperation of European countries in climate change. Nearly 400 students listened the presentation translated to Japanese language. After the presentation rich in colourful pictures of the EU and Hungary, the Ambassador answered with easy-to-understand examples to questions received from students. Beside representatives of the school, representatives of Ogaki city and Gifu Prefecture were also present.
