President of Hungary arrives in Amman |

12 (Petra) -- Hungarian President Laszlo Solyom started a several-day visit today to the Kingdom where he will hold talks with His Majesty King Abdullah on means to bolster bilateral ties and developments in the Middle East.
During the visit, Solyom will meet with Prime Minister Nader Dahabi, Senate President Zeid Rifai, Lower House Speaker Abdul Hadi Majali and several officials.
On the sidelines of the visit, Jordan and Hungary will sign a memorandum of understanding between the foreign ministries in both countries.
Solyom's visit is meant to continue discussing cooperation between the two countries on issues King Abdullah discussed with Solyom during a visit to Budapest in June 2007.
The visiting president and his wife were received by Minister of Environment Khalid Irani, Governor of Amman Saad Al Manaseer, Jordanian Ambassador to Hungary Makram Al Qaisi, Hungarian Ambassador to Jordan and a number of senior officials.
Economic relations between the two countries started back in 1976, with the signing of the first economic cooperation agreement.
