We kindly inform non-Turkish citizens, who wish to apply for Schengen uniform visa at the Consulate General that the Consulate General in Istanbul is only responsible for issuing Schengen uniform visas if:

  • The non-Turkish applicant resides legally in Turkey and has a habitual residence (the applicant holds a permit that makes a stay longer than 3 months possible – e.g. residence permit) or
  • The non-Turkish applicant resides legally in Turkey for short term and there is no Hungarian consulate in the country where the applicant has his/her habitual residence or no other Member State represents Hungary

(*) Hungary is partially represented by Germany as from 1 October 2009. The scope of the partial visa representation agreement shall include the following categories of visa applicants.
Turkish nationals residing and exercising their activities in Turkey who wish to transit through the Republic of Hungary in order to enter the territory of Germany for a stay of up to two months

  • for the purpose of providing a temporary service on behalf of an employer based in Turkey,
    • if they are a driver involved in the international carriage of goods and persons or a member of the crew of a seagoing vessel, an inland waterway vessel or aircraft, or
    • if they are employed in connection with the assembly, maintenance or repair of machines or facilities supplied,
  • for the purpose of providing services for remuneration which take the form of
    • recitals or performances of particular artistic value (by internationally renowned and respected artists or groups, whose performance or recital is a class better than other such services when compared internationally),
    • lectures or performances of special scholarly value or
    • performances of a sporting nature (only in the case of professional athletes who support themselves primarily from their sporting activities)
