Applicants who have residence in India or stay in India for lodging an application in absence of any Hungarian visa representation in their country of origin are advised to refer to this site for information for they can as well lodge visa application with the Hungarian Embassy.

Please be advised that nationals of India, Bangladesh, Maldives, Nepal and Sri Lanka need airport transit visa for transiting between terminals at Budapest Liszt Ferenc International Airport in Hungary. Airport transit visa section provides further details on this.

Please note that nationals of Nepal and Sri Lanka lodge their visa and airport transit visa application with the German Embassies in Kathmandu and Colombo respectively which issue visa on Hungary`s behalf. So, you do not need to come to New Delhi for submitting your visa application. The visa application procedure and conditions for issuing visas are the same as if you wish to visit Germany. Therefore, you are advised to refer to the German Embassy in Kathmandu and German Embassy in Colombo websites respectively for further enquiries.

Please note that Embassy of Hungary handles visa application for visits to Estonia and Latvia too. The visa application procedure and conditions for issuing visas are the same as if you wish to visit Hungary. The Embassy of Hungary accepts visa application from Bangladeshi, Nepali, Sri Lankan or Maldives nationals for their short term visit to Estonia and Latvia if they have permanent or temporary residence in India (tourist visa is not temporary residence for this purpose). Same condition applies for other third country nationals willing to travel to these two countries. Kindly be advised that visa application cannot be accepted if such condition is not met.
