Visit of the City and Environmental Management Committee of the Municipality of Budapest to Dublin

A delegation of the City and Environmental Management Committee of the Municipality of Budapest visited Dublin between 9 and 12 of September. The delegation was led by the Chairman of the Committee, Mr. Imre Lakos, Member of the Hungarian Parliament and Deputy Mayor of Budapest’s 11th District. Other members of the delegation were Mr. Levente Riz, Mayor of the 17th District, Ms. Zsuzsanna Mitus, dr. Pál Balog, Mr. Zsolt Wintermantel, Mr. József Egerfai, Mr. József Gábor, Mr. István Szalkai, members of the General Assembly of the Municipality of Budapest, Ms. Éva Beleznay, Chief Architect of the city and several senior civil servants of the City Hall of Budapest.

The members of the visiting delegation met Councillor Emer Costello, Lord Mayor of Dublin and other members of Dublin City Council. During the talks with Dublin City Councillors and senior civil servants of DCC, the Hungarian guests had wide ranging discussions with their Irish counterparts on the main aspects of city development and management.

At a visit to the Hungarian Embassy, the delegation was briefed on the current political and economic situation in Ireland, as well as on the recent developments of Irish-Hungarian relations.
