This year’s annual lunch of the Dublin based Irish-Hungarian Business Association (IHBA), attended by some 100 business people, took place at Trinity College on September 4. In his emotional address to the event Pat Cox, the Guest of Honour, former President of the European Parliament and Campaign Director of “Ireland for Europe”, a civil organisation supporting the ratification of the Lisbon Treaty recalled Hungary’s role in dismantling the iron curtain and argued for a Yes vote in the Irish referendum on the Lisbon Treaty on October 2.
The IHBA’s Annual Award, announced at the lunch, was presented to Ms. Mária Kelemen, a Hungarian born music teacher who has been successfully running in Dublin her widely known and reputed music school, Young European Strings, for more than 20 years.
