Hungarian Foreign Minister János Martonyi’s official visit to Malaysia

Hungarian Foreign Minister János Martonyi concluded a two-day official visit to Malaysia on 7-8 November 2011. During his stay, Minister Martonyi was received on a courtesy call by Tan Sri Pandikar Amin Haji Mulia, Speaker of the House of Representatives of Malaysia. The Hungarian Foreign Minister held substantial bilateral talks with his partner, Malaysian Foreign Minister Dato’ Sri Anifah Aman. The main points of interests where – besides international and regional affairs – the resumption and expansion of the two countries bilateral relations following Hungary’s move two years ago to suspend the operation of its embassy in Kuala Lumpur. The partners focused on the expansion of cooperation in the fields of tourism, education and sports. Foreign Minister Martonyi also had business talks with the CEO of AirAsiaX and - in the presence of the representatives of the Hungarian Oil and Gas company (MOL) - with the and Malaysian national energy company Petronas.
