Typhoon hits the Philippines – travelling to the region is not recommended
Although Typhoon Bopha seems to be weakening, the Embassy does not recommend travelling to the region or in very urgent cases, asks for appropriate precautions. Bopha has swept through the southern provinces of the Philippines affecting Mindanao Island and by now has been reduced to a tropical storm but is still causing heavy rains and winds. According to the latest news, more than 300 persons were reported dead.
