Dear Visitor |
|
Athens, November 10, 2006 Dear Visitor, This week I presented my credentials to H.E. Karolos Papoulias, President of the Hellenic Republic. By this solemn act I am fully equipped to start my activities as the Head of the Hungarian Mission in Athens. My family and I have arrived in Greece with great enthusiasm and high expectations. My first impressions here in Greece have confirmed the sympathy and respect towards Hungary, I have experienced everywhere the readiness to further enrich our bilateral cooperation – relying on the accomplishments of my predecessors. I am convinced that Hungary and Greece having similar size and strategic location are two members of the European Union and NATO who by consulting and joining forces can exert a substantial influence on the policies of these organizations regarding our region. Along these lines I intend to further enrich the highly positive image of Hungary in Greece by engraving the elements of this strategic partnership in the Greek perception beyond the already existing touristical and cultural traits. Beside our foreign policy cooperation I attach great importance to promoting our economic relations and the further development of our cultural contacts. In these efforts I am counting on everyone who is ready and capable to contribute to the development of the Hungarian-Greek relationship. I would appreciate it if you could send me your comments, eventual initiatives at the following e-mail address: huambgr@kum.hu or get in touch with my dedicated colleagues at the Embassy. Best regards, József Tóth
