Europe Day celebrated in Nicosia

On the occasion of Europe Day celebrations were held on 9 May in Nicosia. The EC Representation in Cyprus in cooperation with the European Parliament Office in Cyprus hosted the event which started with an opening speech of the EU Health Commissioner Andoulla Vassiliou. The Municipality of Nicosia, the Cyprus Police and Traffic Authority as well as embassies of 12 EU member states, including the Embassy of Hungary, attended the event.

The programme focused this year on the young generation. According to this, the Hungarian stand offered information materials especially for the youth, like studying possibilities, cultural and music events, travel information, quiz, etc.

The event was held on one of Nicosia’s most popular high street, accompanied with dance, music, song, and has been visited by a great number of interested people.
