In the name of the Embassy of Hungary in Beijing and myself, let me welcome You visiting our website. I would like especially to express my welcome to my countrymen who are staying in China or are ready to pay a visit to China.
State-to-state affairs between Hungary and China have a nearly six decade long history. During this period, our bilateral relations – from a range of economic and trade to human cooperation – experienced a dynamic and diverse development. More and more people exploit the economic advantages of both countries; others get closer to the cultural values. Hungary became a preferred tourist destination for the Chinese travelers.
Now as member of the enlarged EU, Hungary is an important partner of the PRC in terms of economy, trade and logistics, the EU-membership had positive effects on our relationship.
In recent 10 years, trade volume between two countries increased by 15 times and exceeded 7.5 billion Euro in 2011. Hungary remains one of the most important trade partners of China in the East Central Europe. Nowadays, China has become the biggest export market for Hungarian products in Asia. Investments of enterprises in partner countries are expanding gradually.
2009 marked the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Hungary and the People's Republic of China. This anniversary provided an excellent opportunity for further development in the relations between the two countries.
