Organised by the Embassies of the „Visegrad Four” countries (Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia) and the Czech and Slovak Association of Canada, a charity concert for Haiti was organised on February 3rd in the grand Hall of Ashbury College in Ottawa. Along with Czech and Polish pianists from Montreal, the Ottawa Hungarian Choir as well as Gábor Finta and Edit Palencsár (piano) from Ottawa were performing at the event. An audience of more than 300 people from the diplomatic community, the Canadian government, the media and the local expatriate communites was attending the event. The collected donations were offered to the Humanitarian Coalition of Canada to support their activities in Haiti. The Governor General of Canada sent a welcoming message to the organisers.
