Open day at the Hungarian Ambassador’s Residence

The Embassy of the Republic of Hungary in Ottawa took part again in the events of Doors Open Ottawa 2007, and the heritage building of the Ambassadorial Residence (also known as The Birkett Castle) was open for the public on June 7, 2008. Besides the building’s interior, and the delicate and elegant woodwork all over in the rooms, paintings, sculptures and ceramic works of Hungarian artists were also on display. While visitors walked from room to room, talented musicians of the Ottawa Youth Orchestra (Stephi Bell - flute, Lara Deutsch – flute, Tanya Renaud – viola, Jolani Domitrovits - violin) played chamber music pieces and transcripts for the guests

The total number of visitors reached 583 by the end of the day.

Presents were given to the 1st and 500th visitors.
