Greek-Hungarian cooperation on civilian development in Afghanistan
Contract signed between implementing NGOs and the MFA

On 19 January 2010 the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and two Hungarian NGOs signed a contract on delivering civilian support programmes in Baghlan province, Afghanistan. The contract covers the implementation of various projects aimed at improving women’s situation, education and healthcare, financed by Greece. The implementing NGOs (Hungarian Interchurch Aid and Hungarian Baptist Aid) have been conducting development projects in Afghanistan in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and in the framework of the Hungarian Provincial Reconstruction Team in Baghlan province. The contract has been signed by Mr. Vilmos Szabó, State Secretary of the MFA and by Mr. László Lehel, director of HIA and Mr. Ernő Kató, development director of HBA. The Ambassador of Greeceto Hungary, HE Spyridon Georgiles was also present at the event.
