Ambassadors Visit Queensland at the Invitation of Foreign Minister Rudd

At the invitation of Australian Foreign Minister Kevin Rudd, more than 70 Ambassadors accredited to Australia (including Hungarian Ambassador Gábor Csaba) visited Queensland on April 6-7, 2011. The leading representatives of the Diplomatic Corps received extensive briefings on the recovery efforts in the aftermath of the devastating natural disasters in the first few months of this year as well as on Queensland’s economy, higher education and the development projects of specific regions in the state. The participants met with her Excellency, Ms. Penelope Wensley, Governor of Queensland, Premier Anna Bligh and Trade Minister Craig Emerson. The hosts highlighted Queensland’s surprisingly quick recovery and the excellent opportunities it offers to foreign investors, students and tourists.
