March 15 festivity at the Embassy

On 17 March 2012 the Hungarian Embassy in Canberra commemorated the Revolution of 1848-49. During the festive ceremony civil oath was taken and State decorations presented. The dance ensemble Gyöngyösbokréta from Canberra performed folk dances.

After the celebration, about a hundred guests from across Australia and New Zealand attended the reception. It was a particular pleasure to welcome on this occasion all the Honorary Consuls and General Consul working in Australia and New Zealand, who gathered for a special consular meeting that was organized by the Hungarian Embassy for the evening.
